Art work listings on Google
Author: Geoff B.11/06/2006
We have recently established a direct feed to Google for listing your art work for sale through ImpactFolios on Google's product search engine, Froogle.
Ultimately, this provides a much wider range of exposure for the art work that you have listed for sale on your site. Links listed in the Google search will link directly to the item you have listed for sale on your site (thus, visitors don't have to navigate through the main ImpactFolios site or your website to find items for sale).
This feature ensures that your site and art work are more readily found when searching through various services provided by the Google search engine - either through the Froogle service, Google Base or supplemental search results provided by the main Google search engine.
Additionally, there is some industry speculation that there may be some direct benefit to your site's ranking on Google's main search by establishing this feed (however this hasn't been confirmed - but every little bit helps!).
These listings are updated frequently, but are subject to Google's update schedule, which can be delayed by as much as 24 hours on occasion.

The most important thing is to make sure that you enter descriptive names for your sales items, including size. I'll be writing a seperate blog soon with some general search engine tips.
