A little about this beta thing...

We’ve been getting a few questions lately about the ImpactFolios beta, so I thought I’d address a few of the most common questions here.

What is “beta”?
Beta is basically a term referring to a period of time when we perform testing and debugging on software to prepare it for general availability.  So basically, we are inviting people to join the site, and using their experiences and feedback to improve the service.  We are offering the services for free during this period of time. 

The Beta Discount
To show our appreciation to those who are participating in the early stages of the service, we are providing initial members of ImpactFolios will get a lifetime 25% discount on our services.  A discount code to obtain your discount is provided when you sign up, or can be obtained by writing us at help@impactfolios.com.  You can use this discount any time during the beta, if you wish, or you can use it when the beta period is completed. 

When is the beta over?
We haven’t set a specific date for the end of beta yet, though we are planning on maintaining beta for a few months still.  Beta testers will be notified at least 30 days prior to the end of the beta testing cycle, and then will be given ample time to decide to upgrade or discontinue their service.

Can I upgrade before the beta ends?
There is no obligation to upgrade your account during beta.  The beta account has access to the full set of features on ImpactFolios, though it provides less images and portfolios than an upgraded account.  Upgrading your account allows you to use a domain name (whatevername.com), and provides you with the full number of portfolios (12 portfolios with 20 images in each, 240 total), and can be done at any time - before or after beta.  If you wish to wait, feel free to make full use of the free beta account in the meantime! 

Will there be new features after beta?
Yes, we will continue to aggressively develop the service after beta.  We have a very extensive development roadmap for the coming year, so many new features will be coming post-beta.  As always, if there’s something you want to see us doing on ImpactFolios – let us know… we always welcome suggestions.
